Cocktail Recipes with Vodka and Valuable Tips

Cocktail Old Fashion

The reason why Vodka is considered the perfect ingredient in creating different cocktail recipes is the fact that this spirit is almost as odorless and tasteless as bottled water. The moment you mix this in making cocktail drinks, it enhances the flavors of the other ingredients. Vodka is so flexible that you can combine this with other tasty ingredients like berries, spices and even chocolates.

Vodka originated from Eastern Europe back in the ninth (9th) century but only became popular during the twentieth (20th) century in the Western countries. Vodka cocktails are easy to mix with other ingredients as they are easy to drink. As a matter of fact, expect to find one out of four drinks containing vodka.  It can either be shaken or stirred and is used to make hundreds of unique cocktails.

One thing you need to be aware of in regards to creating cocktail recipes using vodka is that the quality of your creation depends greatly on the vodka that you use. Although not everyone can afford the most expensive brand, you can come up with a nice cocktail drink using an excellent tasting yet reasonably priced vodka.

Generally when you go to a liquor store, the vodka found on the bottom shelves is the cheapest and least likable one used for cocktail drinks. These are the ones you should try to avoid. Instead of these, get the vodka from the middle shelves. The taste of your drink used with cheaply priced vodka is surely a far cry from the taste of a drink mixed with an expensive one.

For you to create great tasting cocktail recipes using vodka, you need to learn about the different ingredients that are mixed. These ingredients are vital in coming up with a great flavored drink. If the vodka you are using lacks the right taste and kick, you can make it tasty by adding either chili peppers, strawberries, apples, lemons, limes or even herbs. Don’t be surprised though that it takes almost a month before you can achieve the desired result.

All you have to do is add the desired ingredient to the vodka bottle and let it stand in a dark corner.  The more time you let it stand, the stronger and better the aroma and flavor it will eventually have.

One final tip on creating cocktail recipes using vodka is to make sure that the cocktail glass you use should have the same temperature as the drink you are going to serve.  For instance if you are serving cold cocktail drinks, the glassware you will use should also be cool.  The same way if you are serving warm drinks, you should make sure that you are using warm cocktail glasses. How do you cool the glasses you will be using? Simply pour a bag or two of ice cubes in a portable chiller and put on the glasses to keep it cool.

You can also chill the glasses in the freezer for a minute or two while you are preparing the drinks to be served. On the other hand, just pour warm water in the glasses if you are making warm drinks.

You don’t have to be a professional bartender to create delicious cocktails using vodka.  All you have to do is be creative using your imagination plus these tips for you to come up with a great tasting drink everyone will certainly enjoy.
